Division 2 Spring League GOALIE

📅 April 12 – May 13, 2027

The RSF Spring Hockey League combines competition, development, and fun in a game-focused environment. Beginning in April 2027, the five-week game-only league gives players an opportunity to continue playing competitive hockey without the commitment of a full spring program.

The season will conclude with a tournament-style playoff prior to May Long Weekend.

Important: Divisions are based primarily on skill level, with birth years used as a guideline. Exceptional players outside the listed birth years may be considered for a higher division; however, approval is required prior to registration.

League Format

Each team will play approximately 9–12 games over the five-week season. Games will consist of three 12-minute stop-time periods.

Teams will be made up of approximately 10–12 players plus a goalie, giving players plenty of opportunity to be involved in the game.

Skill-Based Divisions

Divisions are created primarily by skill level rather than birth year alone. Each division may include players across multiple birth years, allowing us to create more competitive and balanced teams.

Because of the age ranges within divisions, there may be noticeable differences in player size and age. However, our goal is to ensure that the overall skill and competitiveness of players within each division is comparable.

The birth years listed below are guidelines for placement. Exceptional players may be approved to play outside their listed division when their skill level makes the move appropriate. All such placements require RSF approval.

Our priority is creating the best possible competitive experience for every player.

Teams & Scheduling;

Team rosters and schedules will be released approximately two weeks prior to the start of the league.
We intentionally wait to begin the spring season so players have the opportunity to finish their winter hockey commitments with their current teams before shifting their focus to spring hockey.
Our goal when creating teams is to make them as balanced and competitive as possible.
Player requests are limited to two players per team and must be submitted by email. While we will do our best to accommodate requests, competitive team balance will remain our priority.

Coaching;

Coaches interested in leading a team are encouraged to contact shaun@rsfperformance.ca.
